Programs in startup

I used msconfig in W98 to enable or disable programs in startup, what is the equivalent function or is this done in Win-2000 Pro?

You can copy msconfig from a Win 98 machine to a W2K machine and it will work. Alternatively, you can get a Win2K version here:

they are all in the registry.

Hkey_local_machine\software\Microsoft\Windows\Currentversion\Run or runServices or RunOnce.

Also A place that startup items are hidden and are not in any config utility is

Hkey_local_machine\software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Currentversion\Winlogon\ the value is "Userinit" an exe can be run from this value.
