Prohibit Picture Copying from Website

By AnswerMan ·
I had heard there was a way to keep pictures placed on websites from being copied. I thought it was a Tech Republic article, and I cannot seem to find it now.

Is it possible to "gray out" the right click menu for "save picture as"? I realize someone could still use a "capture software (like Snag-It)... but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the tips......

I would browse around at TR's sister site:

www.builder.com.com

They have a LOT more articles on programming.

Yes, I have seen web pages with the Save Picture option disabled.
Interestingly, when I saved the web page, the images were right there to grab out of the folder on my hard drive.

What seems to work better for locking images is the use of JAVA applets and Flash to display the image.

Lol Chas...You give up too much you voyeur you...Lol. Just kidding. I found the same. The question could be easily answered by those that run porn sites as this is their latest invention I hear from a programmer friend of mine, but told it was a closely guarded secret. They should know better...There are no more secrets. Now if only GWB and DC would understand that.

Sry bro, I know it is possible, but I don't know how they actually do it. It will sure ruin a lot of good collections!
