Project Management Certification Costs?

I’m frustrated at the lack of visibility from PMI about the costs of CAPM and PMP certification. It seems to me that they make the system complex to hide the high costs.

I’d love to hear from anyone who could supply the “typical” total costs for CAPM and PMP. Any comparison with the PRINCE2 certification (foundation and practitioner) costs would also be of value.
