project management/workorder tracking system

By hrrhodes2001 ·
anyone know of a good issue tracking app thats open source?
we currently use trackIT to keep up with work orders, but
have been unhappy with how slow it is at times and the fact
it is only good for windows and IE.
we need something flexible, open platform (for mac and linux
use), open source preferably, with
a searchable database, and maybe even some inventory functions.
we are currently looking at RT and OTRS. are these ok, or is there
something out there thats better. many thanks for any imput
you guys can give.

Hi there,

You could take a look at Best Practical's Request Tracker. We use is for issue tracking, and it has its good and not-so-good points, but it is Open Source and overall I thinks it is pretty good

You might want to look at a web-based product called Footprints by Unipress software.

We have been using it for fours now and we are very happy with it.

A very good product.. and affordable. Built over an access database - very functional with networks and standalones. Gathers great data from computers, tracks workhours, orders, inventory, training, highly recommend it.
