Structure of a Project Management Office

by floyd In reply to Project Office

The purpose of a Program Management Office (PMO) is to support program leadership - working in conjunction with business sponsors to set the vision, goals and objectives of a program. Once those are in place, the day-to-day business of developing and implementing a framework to achieve those goals and objectives moves to the forefront. The overall objective is then to proactively manage and reduce the risks associated with the projects in the program. Program management involves processes and services that support multiple projects.
