      Projector question

All multimedia projectors function essentially the same with a given computer.

      Your choices and tradeoffs involve:
      Brightness (lumens)
      Resolution
      Weight
      Other bells and whistles

Cost is a function of all these things.

Cost generally increases based on higher lumen rating, higher resolution, lower weight, and more bells and whistles.

But they WORK generally the same.

As in answer 1, any projector will do, so long as it supports your resolution. Lumens, contrast ratio etc are a bit irrelevant!

If you are using XGA (1024×768) resolution then you will need an XGA projector. If you only run at 800×600 then an SVGA projector will suffice.

Many SVGA projectors will display an XGA image, but they do it by interpolation so the quality is reduced.

Virtually ALL LCD/DLP projectors can autosense the incoming VGA/SVGA/XGA signal and autoadjust accordingly.
