Properties Windows Gone – No Screensaver

    Locked

    by dhigson ·

XPAntivirus 2008 attacked my PC and took my screensaver and Properties Window. I have removed the XPantivirus but I still don’t have the Properties Window when I right-click.
    Can anyone help me.

Clearly you haven’t removed all the damage so what did you use to remove the virus?

I used Revo uninstaller, which took the xpantivirus 2008 windows off the
screen but I still have no properties window when I right-click on my mouse on my desktop, so therefore I have no screensaver.

      Turn off System Restore

Download SDFix and save it to your desktop.(either one below)

      http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.zip

      http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix and it will extract the files to %systemdrive% (Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Restart your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :

Tap the F8 key continually and select Safe Mode, then press “Enter”.

      Choose your usual account.

Use Explorer to navigate to the sdfix folder and double click “RunThis.bat” to start the script.

Type “Y” to begin the script.

It will remove the Trojan Services then make some repairs to the registry and prompt you to press any key to Reboot.

Press any Key and it will restart the PC.

Your system will take longer that normal to restart as the fixtool will be running and removing files.

When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display “Finished”, then press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
