Protected Storage in IE6

By pcsupport ·
Does anyone know how to disable Protected Storage in IE6? Everytime I click on a field to input date in IE6 I get the PS box appear promoting me for a password I have meant to have typed in. I have entered all the passwords I have ever used but still no success. Can anyone help ?

Much appreciated

This is typically caused by corruption or incorrect security on the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Protected Storage System Provider

The quickest way to get round it is to delete this key (you may need reset security on it and it's subkeys first). As and when protected storage is required, the OS will rebuild the key. As always when changing the registry a backup is advisable...
