Protocol Question

by JustAnAdmin In reply to Protocol Question

PPOE stands for Point to Point Over Ethernet.

It is the standard way of authenticating your rights to log on to a DSL line. PPOE is only used by providers that require to to log on when using DSL. It is very common and allows an ISP the possibility of needing fewer IP addresses, and therefore can save them money.

This link has some additional information, remember to remove any spaces in the address.

Hope this helps!
