Installed the demo version of MS Proxy Server 2.0. It didn't work. Now in uninstalling in, I can't remove the Proxy Server Admin program - not even from the registry or the services program in control panel. Now any fresh installation of Proxy (Now I have the full software) will not work (message: access denied) because of this previous installation. How do I get rid of this?

That is a damn good question. I had to reinstall NT. Try to use a ERD to restore the registry to a state before the installation of proxy. Let me know what you conjure up.
you could always set up a fresh machine, install the demo, and run windiff (before and after the install) might be a key or two you left behind. Good Luck
