I have a laptop for one of our Execs that travel often. I want to be able to set her laptop to access the Internet from work through a Proxy server and then when she is away she can use her AOL account. She uses Outlook for her work email account and AOL for her personal.
This is my problem, first Proxy needs to be installed for Outlook to access the POP3 server from work, but when Proxy is installed her AOL doesn’t work correctly. With Proxy installed she is able to connect to AOL’s main page but cannot do any browsing the Internet within AOL, but she can surf using IE. However, with Proxy installed the dial up function stops working. It fails to make network connections to AOL.
If I uninstall Proxy, Her AOL works on dial up but does not work TCP/IP and Outlooks is unable to get POP3 emails.
How can I get these two to work together, I want her to be able to access the Internet using the DSL at work through a proxy server and also be able to use a dial up connection when sheis away from work. I need Outlook to work within both settings.
Help!
