Proxy Password

By stergios_nik ·
Hello,

I have a Microsoft Proxy Server 1.0. If some accesses my proxy from Outside of company and the proxy does not present a dialog box asking for user name and a password then what does this mean?

How can I make the proxy to present this authentication dialog box?

Maybe something is wrong with the permissions that users (possibly everyone group) are granted to use the proxy.

Any ideas?

Open Windows NT Explorer, and select the Scripts subfolder, under the Inetpub folder.

Right click Properties, and click the Security tab. Then click the Permissions tab. Remove the group Everyone. Click OK.

Do the same for the Urlcache folder.

The above is the revers of the following article:
MSKB Q170042

You can paste the above "MSKB Q170042" in Internet Explorer and it'll automatically connect to the full article (it'll only work in MSIE).
