I have an MS Proxy Server v2.0 configured to provide web-caching services to my 2000 node network. Currently, only about 100 nodes have the MS Proxy Client installed. The rest of the clients seem to use the Proxy and my guess is because they have the box checked that says “Automatically detect network settings”.
Is there a way for me to “turn-off” the Proxy Server advertising itself on the network? I’d like the users who do not have the Proxy client installed to be able to bypass the server. Also, if I can disable this feature, are there any pitfalls I should look out for?
