Proxy server 2.0 site list

By roger ·
Is there a way that I can print out the list of sites that I have granted access to (all sites denied by default) in Msoft Proxy 2.0? I need to distribute the list to higher ups and haven't been able to find this useful functionality. Thanks.

Proxy server 2.0 site list

by TechRerpublic In reply to Proxy server 2.0 site lis ...

Roger,
MS Proxy does not have a reporting tool by itself.
But it keeps a highly detailed daily log file, example would be "W3000620.log".
The "w" and the extension "*.log" is standard, the xx620 in my example is of the 6th month and the 20th day.
Remember that you have to check-select the logging function under;
- MS Proxy
- Logging and check verbose and daily logs, remember the path of the log files

Now back to the reporting option;
- import the logs into a Spreadsheet (was a painfull for me)
- select the SQL option under Proxy logging (create a db and queries)
- import in Access db
And there are more option to imported the log files, but all need detailed knowledge of that imported program.
So... finally after all those options that I tried out, I decided to use a third party program called "Telemate Software".
This is a monster reporting tool, with predefined queries and forms. My Management loves the graphs and data from it.
And I'm not at all affiliated withwww.telemate.com, but it help our organization a great lot.

Or you can like I did manually copy and paste the log data into your presentation... I hope I help you a little.

Thanks for the reply, but I think you migh have misunderstod me. The daily log file keeps tally of sites either accessed or attempted to access...I need a list if all the sites that I have entered that users can have access to (now coming up on 300). It would be nice to present this list of sites to people who want to know what they have access to. Again, thanks for your response, though.
