Proxy Server and a Router

By chris smith ·
How should I setup the network cards on a Proxy Server when I use an ISDN router to access the net? Should I use two NICs in the Server? and how should they be set up (does one of the Server NICs have the static IP info supplied by my ISP or does itstay on the router)?

Hello.
The server must have two nics:
"External"-static ip.connected to the router.
it's Default Gateway is the router.
"Internal"-static ip.connected to the lan.
no Default gateway.
the router should hold the ip got by your isp.
users's ip:usually dhcp.their Default Gateway is the
"internal" ip.
Be sure to have routing in the proxy between the two nic's.

Good Luck.
