Hi, One of our users has been saving all of their e-mail messages into a PST folder. This is used to refer to previous account info, data, actions, etc. However, the size of this file has reached the maximum of 2gig. The user had other messages trying to move from MS exchange server into this PST file. The action, slowed the computer to a crawl. I was able to correct that issue by creating another pst file and have the new messages download into it.
Now, my problem is that the information in this 2gig pst file is required and needs to be retreived. I transfered this file to another computer (mine) and imported this file. After much work, the file finally opened up and I can see, read, and open any message. What I want to do is to move part of the messages to a new pst file so that it can be managed more easily.
I have tried to move, copy, and delete any message. Each time I get a message that says… “the file.pst has reached its maximun size. To reduce the amount of data in this file, select some items that you no longer need, then permanently (shift + del) delete them.”
Each time I try this (Shift + del) I get the exact same message. I am not able to delete, move or copy any message to another folder.
Does anyone have any suggestions.
Thanks
