public & private IP for my Proxy???

By sabrodiesel2000 ·
well i have configured a webserver, proxy server, ftp server, telnet server, database server, firewall server and backup servers at my house. I want people logged on to the internet access my PC as a webserver, in other words if they type the IP of my PC, they get to my ROOT directory for website.

Everything is working perfectly on the INTRANET, but i cant get an idea to get a PUBLIC IP so that people outside my Local Network can access me using my IP address. My webserver is not dialed directly to the internet, my webserver is infact another client like other servers configured. And i want both the IPs if possible for my webserver like my proxy server that is directly configured to connect to the internet directly.

I dont want the solution to get a leased line or DSL here, just on the DIAL-UP for certain reasons, i would have to supply the new alive IP i am online with i know, but is there a solution by which i can attain a PUBLIC IP and PrIVATE IP for my webserver?

Is therea way???

public & private IP for my Proxy???

I don't understand exactly your problem. But here is what I think you have.
1. A proxy Server that is connected to the Internet.
2. 1 or more computers (including the web server) that are connected to the Proxy Server using private IP Address.

Your problem I think is that clients from the Internet are not able to connect to your web server even when the proxy server is connected to the Internet, so you want a public IP Address for you Web server.

You don't need another public IP Address, you can use the one that the proxy is using. On the proxy server configure that traffic that is requested on port 80 (HTTP, for the web), port 21 (FTP), port 23 (telnet), should go to the private IP address of your web, ftp, and telnet server.
If I am wrong in what your problem is, please email me.

To have 24/7/365 access to your networkwork for web,FTP, via the internet, you'll have to have a FQDN & DSL/Cable/leased line connection with a static IP address and host header pointer. You also have to have your FQDN listed on the different web search engines. [you can do that for free but that usually takes forever] If not, you can still purchase a static IP address from your ISP provider and have a host header pointer to your FQDN and list your FQDN with the different internet search engines [but you might as well get the DSL/Cable with it if your going to do that].

Another option available [because you said you didn't want to go the FQDN/DSL/Cable always on connection route], you can have outside users of your intranet use VPN or dialup access. This would be on an individual user basis and not public [public meaning anyone on the internet would or could access your site by typing in you FQDN.] Your server's Routing and Remote Access service is used to established these connection and you can use specific log on path's which would direct them to your web/FTP sites.

A third solution, but from your question is seems you want to use your equipment, is to use web hosting service.

Your question seems to say, "you want public internet presence but you don't want to pay high monthly costs". Don't blame you! However there is no solution to that that meets your stated parameters using your own equipment.

public & private IP for my Proxy???

well thanX everyone i think i need to tell u my problem in simple words... my proxy connects my clients(which are configured as various servers). i need the people on internet to access my clients as i always do in a local network like for instance.. ftp://pc1 or type pc1 and if its configured as webserver, the local browser leads to my local website.....

so this is what i want, eventhough im on the dialup, its not the issue anyway, cuz DSL cable systems ISDN or DDNs are theyways to attain a static IP over internet connection. i hope now everyone got the point !!!
