Purchased Laptop with out operating system disc

by cms remix . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

Hi all, I am new to TechRepublic and not sure if this is the place to post this question. I purchased a laptop with no operating System disc. And i need to install the IIS, When trying to install IIS it asks for the Service Pack 2 Disc. I downloaded from microsoft the Windows XP Proffessional Service pack 2 and burnt to a disc. It installed properly but still can’t install IIS. And it won’t read from the disc when i put it in at time of trying to install IIS. My laptop is an acer and it is running Windows XP Media Center Edition. Is their a good way to just install windows xp Proffessional or am i going to have to go another route. I am up for any ideas no matter how extreme. It is critical that i get IIS installed to work on my project on my laptop. I could care less about the Media center so i could possibly just install a new OS.
Any ideas are welcome.
