By kyleknicks ·
I'm curious to know, if I admin a network of win2k workstations, and i need to purge everyone's IE cache, how could I do it easily? without going to everyone's PC?

Here's a link to a JavaScript that will clean the cache and delete the index.dat file after a reboot. It works pretty well. You could have your users run this, OR you could modify the script as needed and run it on logon. Here's the link:

Right-click on IE Cache 2.0 Cleanup Fix and save it to your machine, then you can edit as needed.

Also, If lots of cache is a problem, you could always go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache and change value "Persistent" to 0, which causes the cache to clear automatically on when IE is closed. There is also the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Cache\Content CacheLimit value, which sets the maximum cache size for the user (in KB)

Hope this helps!
