Purging email from Exchange 2000

By jrinehart ·
We are a company that has set a record retention policy of 3 years to keep email. I know that Exchange has the archiving feature. This puts items in a diferent folder. Is their a way to delete email after a certain "Received" date? Like after three years we will delete all email older than three years. How do we do a global delete by a certain date in Exchange? Any other ideas? Please help. We are using Outlook 2002 and Echange 2000 for email.

you have to configure each exchange installation...
tools->options->other->auto archive->set "clean out items older than 36months" click permanantly delete old items, apply.
