We have department checkbook Excel files on a shared network drive. I have added password (PW) protection to modify the files. Sounds good, right? But this does not prevent the entire file from being over-written by anyone who has access to the folder. The User does have to select YES to “this file already exists, do you want to replace it” but that’s not much of a safeguard. And when the file is over-written, all PW protection or cell protection is over-written as well.
Suggestions??
