PXE-E28: BIS bad entry structure checksum

By k.grey ·
Hi,

I have been looking around on the internet and canot find an explanation of what would cause a PXE-E28 error when trying to boot from LAN. I have seen the SMBIOS mentioned but am unsure what this is?

I keep getting this error code when trying to boot one of my curriculum machines via the network. I have successfully booted an built a PC using the exact same hardware however the BIOS may not be the same.

Does anyone have any suggestions or an explanaiton of this error code?

Thanks in advance

You need to make sure in the BIOS that PXE is available...

And if so make sure it is marked "Enable". If your BIOS does not have this then that is why you are getting these errors, meaning it will be harder (or not at all) to boot-up from LAN.
Hope all goes well.
