Quantum Fireball lct15 30gb jumper settings

by bax2x . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

I have this 30gb quantum drive and I can’t get my computer to recognize it. I recently installed another hard disk to the motherboard with a spare IDE ribbon I had laying around. I decided I would connect this third drive as the slave to that one. The computer doesn’t seem to know it’s there. I think the problem may be with the jumper settings. On the disk, it lists 3 settings; one for master, one for slave, and one for cable select. The other drive is set to cable select so I set this oen the same way. It only came with one jumper and the picture shows only one jumper. However, on the Seagate website (Seagate bought maxtor) it shows that the drive should have 2 jumpers. What is going on here?
