Hi,
I have a computer that when I try to connect to the internet, it dials and gets connected and then disconnects me after about 10-20 seconds. I can do this about 4 times and then the 5th time it will stay connected. Its weird. I have called thinking it was my ISP, but they say it has nothing to do with them and that it is something with my modem.
Another thing that happens is sometimes it will show it is connected and then when you try to bring up a webpage in IE it shows the connection wizard thing and it wont let you connect or it will bring up a page that says page not found. Then when you try to disconnect it by right clicking the 2 computers on the taskbar, it wont disconnect?
Do you think I need to replace the modem? Could my problems be a virus, if so how do I kill that virus and shouldnt my Norton have picked it up?
