Queue retains print jobs

By smilko ·
I have a Windows 2k SP4 machine. It prints to 2 different printes A Xerox Phaser 7700DN and an HP 1320n. The printers are attached directly to the network and each has its own IP address. My problem is whenever I print something from this machine the print Jobs remain in the Queue. Then when I shut the machine off and turn it back on again the print jobs procede to print again. I have installed the latest drivers and tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printers.

Any help would be appreciated!

next time instead of rebooting, try turning the print spooler off/on. Control Panel -- Admin tools -- services -- print spooler. Something is interfering with the spooler service or it has become corrupt. try uninstalling all printers on your system, reboot, and re-install them with the latest drivers. If it is still a problem, look through running programs in task manager, turn off suspicious ones and see if it works or not. when you find the culprit, remove it from startup
