Hello. Need some help getting QuickBooks Pro 2009 to run. Must be opened by a windows user account that has admin privileges to back-up or start multi-user mode. Found that if you add the user to “Act as part of the Operating System” local security policy, it works. Other group policy setting prevent the user from being able to install software, but I wonder if there is a way to just give the QuickBooks program the raised authority. Our environment is pretty locked down, we don’t install to C:\Program Files, disable the Run command, don’t allow browsing the network, and lots of other things. I just want QuickBooks to work without IT intervention all the time, which it did before the 2009 version was installed on 4/15/09. Any help or insights greatly appreciated. Intuit’s response was “make the user an administrator”. Well, sorry, can’t do that in our environment.
