Quickbooks time setting

By willie3880 ·
I get the following error "You have changed the system time when other users are using this company file. This may compromise the behavior of quickbooks. We strongly recommend you inform all users to immediately close and reopme the company file before continuing" This happens only on the one pc. We have turned time tracking and automatic updates off but to no avail it still happens. Any suggestions on how to resolve this ongoing issue.

Why do I receive the following warning message when connecting to the Internet through QuickBooks, or outside of QuickBooks but with the program open?

You have changed the system time when others are using this company file.

Windows XP automatically synchronizes the system time when you access the Internet. QuickBooks reads the action, and interprets it as a change to the system time. If more than one user is in a company data file when this occurs, QuickBooks displays the warning message.
This issue was addressed in Release 2 of QuickBooks 2002. If you receive this error message, resolve it by updating to the latest release of QuickBooks 2002:

From the QuickBooks File menu, choose Update QuickBooks.
Click Update.
Click Get Updates. When the update process is completed, you??ll see the message Update Complete at the bottom of the Update QuickBooks window.
If you do not have Internet access, further details about updating QuickBooks can be found in the QuickBooks Help Index under updating QuickBooks.
