Raid 1 config !!

Hi,

We have a Dell poweredge500SC server with CERC ATA100/4ch IDE Raid Controller and 2 40GB IDE hard disks. This is the first time I configure Raid of any Level. I follow the instruction from the user guide to set up Raid 1. 2 disks are addedto an array. How can I tell that the raid 1 is working properly? Any comment would be very helpful. Look forward to hearing from you.
