I need to protect my images as I’m a photographer in my spare time, so I have one hard drive for the operating system (Vista), and a matching pair 500Gb drives for the photos. I put in an MRI Raid 1 card this weekend and it went remarkable smoothly, even copying the main drive to its copy. The BIOS reports both in use but when I use Explorer to look at the drives it only reports one drive, which logically is all I have now. Has anyone ever considered how to check both disks are working without resorting to pulling out cables? I’d like to have that comfortable feeling that the duplicates are working properly by seeing the data (or data size) before one fails.
