RAM suggestions

By Hardware_Jinx ·

Want to put 2X4GB of RAM in my HTPC.

Using a Gigabyte MA78G-DS3H Motherboard, AMD 6000 & Vista U OS.

Any suggestions?

What is Kit mean? (as in DDR2-800 4GB-Kit)

This is just a Matched Pair of RAM Sticks that will not have any Timing Issues when fitted to a M'Board.

You need to realize that 32 Bit Windows Systems Can Not use more than about 3 GIG of RAM as they are unable to address the Higher RAM Addresses. You need a 64 Bit Windows OS to make use of 8 GIG of RAM here.

You should however check the Supported RAM List on Gigabytes Web Site to see if the Brand & Model of the RAM you are looking at is supported by this M'Board. There are 2 distinct versions of this M'Board Version 1 & Version 2 o you need to look up the RAM for your exact M'Board.
