RAS connection cannot ping

I have RAS set up on a server with NT4.0 SP6a. It is set up to assign IP addresses to the client from a static pool. RAS is set up to use TCPIP as the only protocol. The client is an NT4.0 SP6a workstation. He can dial up okay and connect and authenticate just fine. But he cannot ping any computer in the network. When I check IPCONFIG/All, I find that an address has been provided from the static pool just as it should.

However, the PPP subnet mask is 255.0.0.0 when it should be 255.255.255.0 and I cannot change it. Our internal network range is 10.177.152.0 so that is probably why it picked that subnet. I don’t even know if that is the problem. What I do know is that it is critical to get this person into our system ASAP.

Anybody have any suggestions?
