RAS issue

I have a win 98 client and want to dial in to my network using user/password authentication of NT. I have given RAS permissions/rughts to the user. but it fails to login. what do i need to do so that i can simulate my LAN thru dial in . at office i use the network card to connect to the server..

What kind of hardware is involved in this scenario ? Are you dialing into a separate RAS box or the Server directly ? One thing that you may want to try is to change the authentication type. Whatever that machine that you are dialing into is using for authentication needs to be used by the dial in client as well. Note that depending on your situation you can increase the level of authentication if need be.

I am using MS CHAP authentication
the protocol is TCP/IP only
The RAS server is winnt4
the RAS client is win98

I think that I may be a little bit confused by what you are trying to do. When you say that you are trying to "simulate my LAN thru dial in" do you mean get a display of a desktop that is on your LAN when you dial in ? If you can perhaps elaboratea bit more on exactly what it is that you are trying to do I think that I may be able to help.

problem solved as by mapping network drive i can access my network folders
