RAS issue

I have a win 98 client and want to dial in to my network using user/password authentication of NT. I have given RAS permissions/rughts to the user. but it fails to login. what do i need to do so that i can simulate my LAN thru dial in . at office i use the network card to connect to the server..

Set your network properties to "Log in to an NT Domain" with the apropriate info.(on the client)
RAS should be set for CHAP authentication.

log in to NT domain is clicked.
RAS has been setup for CHAP authentication also.
still does not log in .....

If you have a second available phone line, install a modem on your work computer and disconnect the network cable. Then dial into the server (you may have to dial an extension). This should allow you test your setup.

Another posibility is any programs you may have configure to answer the line other than RAS. A prime example is PCAnywhere and WinFaxPro. Both will lead you to believe that your server has answered the line when in actuality, RAS never saw the line ring and therefore never asked for authentication.
