RAS(Remote Access Server)

By wkanyeki ·
While trying to start RAS on windows Nt machine, the service refuses to automatically start. At first I thought that it was because I was using an outdated service pack(service pack 4) but after upgrading to service pack 6, RAS still won't start.

First of all SP 6 has a lot of bugs ,you should install SP6a.
Second ,if you are configuring your RAS for inbound access only ,It'll not start automaticaly ,you have you configure it for both inbound and OUTGOING .
Have a nice day

RAS server service will start if you define dial out and recieve call in network neighbourhood --> properties-->services --->
RAS and click configure and click dial out and recieve call then you can start remote access service it is not the fault of SP4 or SP6
