RDC not allowing connections in

By nhoek ·
We have one XP Pro system in our network that will not accept RDC or VNC incoming connections. If you are on that system you can VNC or RDC to other systsm/servers.

I have checked the usual, firewall and made sure that RDC will accept connections from the people that it should be (domain admains etc.).

I can ping the system from other systems and this system is part of our domain.

Any ideas ?

yes all that has been verified. We have this system set up just like our others. We were thinking perhaps it is in the registry?

As well as that option, XP will only allow one connection at a time, if its in use, then further connections are not possible.

Here are a few things to check.

Because RDP and VNC is failing it sounds like an IP blocking issue.

Are you absolutely sure there is no firewall (winXP or 3rd party) blocking access. I had this problem once and it was caused by some antivirus software that also had firewall software.

I know you've probably checked this already but have you configured your firewall to allow incoming on port 5900 (vnc) and 3389 (RDP)
