The easiest way would be to hold down shift and right click on a jpeg, then click Open With... In the box that comes up, select IExplore or Netscape, make sure the box is checked that says "Always use this program to open this type of file", and click OK.

In Explorer go to view/options/file types scroll down to jpeg, click Edit, select Open, click edit again, then using the browse function go to the program you want to use to open jpeg files (in your case Internet Explorer) Your path should be similar to: "C:\progra~1\intern~1\iexplore.exe" -nohome

If you're using DDE the DDE message box should look like "file%1",,-1,,,,,
The Application window should say Explorer. The Topic box should say: WWW_OpenURL. DDE Aplications Not Running should be blank.

This is for Win95. It's easier in Win98.

In Windos Explorer go to View - options choose the File Types tab and from the list of extensions highlight JPEG and then delete.

The next time you open a JPEG it will ask you what you would like to open it with.

Make sure the "always use thisprogram to open this file" box is ticked

Good Luck

this is the fast and simple way though not the microsoft way
if you are savy with the registry do this
hkey_classes_root\.jpeg

delete the entry
close saving changes
double click one jpeg and it will tell you to open with
tell it ie or netscape
it will now be forever so , because teh registry tells it so

Click on any jpeg picture. Press Shift and right-click on it, and select "Open With". Choose the IE or Netscape(Note that you can only choose one) and tick the "Always use this program to open this type of file" Option. The jpeg that you selected will come up in the browser you have chosen. If you need to change back, just follow the above procedures, changing IE into that program.

Hope this helps, Maozy
