Re-Installing Exchange Services

By gmcguire ·
The Internet Mail Service for Exchange is missing in the services group. It looks like it has been deleted. Can I re-install the internet mail service without re-installing Exchange? Under services this option is missing.

One way to accomplish this is to follow the steps as if you were going to re-install Exchange and then choose internet mail service so that only this component will be installed.

If you're using Exchange 5.5, you will need to re-install an Internet Mail Connector.

This does not require re-installing Exchange.

In Exchange Administrator, select File, then New Other, then Internet Mail Connector. The wizard will ask you questions about the role that this IMC will play. It is very intuitive.
Assuming your IMC was functioning before, little or no addditional config should be required
