RE: Vista Companion (exe) CANNOT REMOVE ITS EFFECTS from Vista!!!

Hello. I have a serious question. I NEED ANSWERS!!! I have downloaded and installed from the Tech Republic website the program, Vista Companion (exe) (website: http://search.techrepublic.com.com/index.php?t=14&s=0&o=0&q=microsoft+windows+vista). I have used it and since I have uninstalled this program from my Windows Vista Ultimate. Now, the program?s features such as controlling my Quick Launch in my Start Menu?s ?Show Quick Launch? setting and my Advanced User Account?s Secure Logon?s ?Requires users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete? are both grayed-out and not active box selections where I can check and uncheck any longer. I have no control over the Quick Launch bar and at system restart, I get the tedious message ?Press CTRL + CLT + DELETE to logon? message just before I am able to select the user account I want to logon to. Even after uninstalling this program, the program cannot give me back control to these two functions. I have e-mailed Vista Companion?s technical support and after a week, the reply with a response that does not work. They suggest that I try changing the following setting in Windows registry to relinquish control back to me regarding the Quick Launch Bar:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTARE/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Policies/Explorer/QuickLaunchEnabled. Set it to 1.

When I got to this registry setting, it WAS ALREADY SET 1. For the heck of it, I set it to 0, reboot, set it to 1, and reboot again. Nothing changes. ?Show Quick Launch? is still grayed out and not active to change in the Start Menu.

I do a Google search for the other issue regarding the ?Press CTRL + CLT + DELETE to logon?. I find I need to enter my ?Local Security Policy? window and under Security Options, disable ?Interactive login: Do not require CTRL+ ALT+DEL.? To my surprise I find that IS ALREADY DISABLED. Therefore this will not make a difference. I try for the heck of it enabling it and disabling it with system reboots after each change in the setting. Again, I cannot get rid of that annoying ?Press CTRL + CLT + DELETE to logon? at system restart. I go to my User Accounts window, under ?Advanced? tab and find that ?Requires users to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete? are grayed-out and not active.

Next, I figure I would I use Revo Uninstall program to COMPLETELY uninstall this program instead of Windows uninstaller. I install Vista Companion to get it on my system, and then use the Revo Uninstall program, setting the uninstall setting to ?Advanced? setting (max. setting for program removal). Still both issues persist on Vista after using Revo Uninstall.

There are no articles on the web regarding this program or issues associated with it. I am lost. It seems to persist and be somehow embedded on Vista without the complete removal of its remnants still effecting Vista settings.

If you have any suggestions, please provide me a solution. I?m desperate! Thank you!!!
