Re: Windows XP, Bluetooth and Passkeys

I have a device, ‘x’, which according to documentation and the vendor, does not use a passkey for Bluetooth stack authentication.

that being said….

I am using an Ezurio USB Bluetooth adapter on a freshly imaged computer. I plug it in, Windows recognizes it as a TDK Bluetooth USB Adaptor. I search for the device, ‘x’, Windows finds it, I set it up without a passkey, everything is hunky-dory. HOWEVER, when the program, ‘y’, attempts to access the device, ‘x’, Windows forgets that the devices has already been setup and configured for COM3 and COM4 and informs me that a devices is attempting to connect to my computer. During the *new* Add a Bluetooth Device to your computer screen, Windows _will not_ allow the device to connect without a passkey.

How do I get Windows to relax the restriction in place and allow the software to connect to the hardware?
