    Windows XP MS word 2007.

Can copy to disk but is a read only file, which I have tried to remove but when it is reopened it is still shaded in as read only.

in the properties of the file this is normal. It does not mean it is read only. I forget why it is like that, but I remember having to look it up a long time ago. As long as you can write to the file, don’t worry. Maybe if someone knows why, they can point it out.

If you can’t write to it though, make sure it is not inheriting permissions from anywhere.
