Read only

I want to know how to remove read only attribute from the folders properties I mean when I cklic right click on any folder and choose properties I see that the attribute is read only and the square is checked so I need to remove that checked square how to make it clear permanantly.

Just uncheck the box and hit apply and/or Ok... It should not come back. If it asks you, you can apply the change to all subfolders/files. if it keeps on comming back, a program is changing it. Or, if on CD, you can not remove the readonly attribute.

Open Windows Explorer,then choose tools,folder options,in the window that opens choose show all files,see if this gives you the option

You can't remove the read-only attribute on some system and custom folders. Most of the time you don't have to worry about it. But if you run into problems saving to a specific folder check the following ms articles.
