"Read Receipt" in Outlook 2000

I got a user (A) reported a question as below:

(A) has automatic read receipts on all of the e-mails sending out, he gets read receipts from all users he sent emails to, however he never get any read receipt coming back from another user (B).

I did a test with (B) and there is no receipt feedback from him, either.


I checked the setting in user (B)'s Outlook, under Tools--Option-EMail Option-Tracking Option is set up fine. DID NOT SEE ANY OPTION TO DISABLE THE SENDINGOF READ RECEIPT.

Please advise, thanks a lot.

You may want to make sure that the user is actually opening the email. Some Outlook users have AutoPreview turned on, and will read the email "preview", and not open the email to read the rest. Sometimes the entire email shows in the preveiw, so there is no need to open it.

This could result in Outlook not sending a read reciept, as the email was never actually opened.
