readonly files after copy

By rhiegen ·
Dear Friends,

I had folders for my users in an NT 4.0 server. I had to copy them all to a member server running Win 2k server and then I built new folders regroup them in a more organized way. Then I go to user manager for domains and set profile to z: and put the adequate path to each user to reflect the new path. Now they have access to their files , however many of the files are open as read-only files in the Word , Excel, Power Point and they cannot save them even with other names. If Icheck if they are read-only in its properties they are ok.

What can I do?

Paulo

Check their network rights for the files and folders.

Even if the file is not set to read only, if the users rights to the file or foldr is set to read only you will get the same effect.
