Real Player & Shockwave problem

by shawn . Updated 24 years, 3 months ago

I’ve recently integrated a brade new system for my wife. Everything works beautiful, except that when she uses Real Player 8 Basic to view video either streaming or off a CD (for an on-line course she’s taking) Real Player will freeze up and stop playing. This has also occurred when playing animations viewed through Shockwave.
Quicktime 5 & Windows Media Player seem to be working great.
I have removed the video driver and codecs, and then reinstalled. I have brought all drivers up to date, and insured that Win2K is fully updated.
I’m not sure what the problem is now, and was hoping someone here could help me out.

The system consists of:
AOpen AX4BS motherboard Intel 845 Chipset
512 MB SDRAM (2×256)
Intel P4-1.5 GHz. CPU
ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 32MB DDR
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum
3Com WinModem
3Com NIC
Sony DVD-ROM & HP 8100 series CD-RW
Windows 2000 Pro
Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 (Downgraded from IE 6 at request of the tech support from on-line class)

Thanks for your time,
S. Harris
