Real-time video over Intranet

by toucan . Updated 21 years, 8 months ago

I’ probably overlooking an obvious solution here so help me out. I have a Windows 2000 Pro WS running a detection and monitoring application. What I would like to be able to do is re-broadcast the application window (or entire desktop) over the intranet either to several dedicated monitors or allow select clients to log-in and view the application. I don’t need any remote control, just the view of what the workstation is showing in real-time.

The typical video splitters are limited to ~100 meters depending on resolution and still require a dedicated wire.

It seems I should be able to use a COTS appliance similar to the units that re-broadcast surviellance cameras via the web. How do I feed a 1024×768 VGA window?
