hi there
listen there are several types of beeps so firstly check if all the components like cdrom, harddisk, floppy is having power supply and secondly just try to remove the ram and insert it in the same way back pls check with the notch of the ram before instalation if things wont work out try to be specific as to whether there is display or not or just beep with no display or it some errors make it known to us pls

having done this myself so ill try to help...
what is the computer modle #?(and what brand is it? dell or compaq or something like that... all that information is rather important...)
often if you look around there are manuals on the hardware for the computer... allota people have nothing better to do then take there computer apart and make diagrams on how they got it all back together... being one i can comment...

well i would say to make sure that everything is pluged in the right slot... and that it is plugged in right way up... (first thing to do when your computer wont turn on is make sure its plugged in)

might want to put in the boot cd in (and make sure that the d drive or what ever your main cd drive is called is pluged in right) and start it up booting from the cd...

some pieces of hardwear have LCD lights on them that will light up when the computer is plugged in and turned on to confrm power... many others dont... bad part about it is if it does have the little light and its not lit often you dont know the light is there and something is wrong with that part...

hope this helps...
