realplayer is not loud enough

my customer downloaded free realplayer(not the time-limited one). he told me he cannot set it louder in windows 2000. what should he do. i cannot simulate it on my pc due to lack of soundcard.

He may need amplified external speakers.
Double-click the volume icon and make sure that the sound settings are all at maximum. Then tweak from there.

Hi Michael,

There are several different volume controls for most Windows based PCs.

The volume control on the Real Player screen only controls what percentage of the system volume Real Player plays at.

Assuming that there is a Speaker or volume icon in the system tray, double click on the icon.
This opens up the mixer panel.

The settings for system volume and some of the devices may need to be adjusted to get the desired volume.
He may need to lower the wave and wave table mixer settings in order to balance a higher system volume setting required to get the level desired from Real Player.

He may even need to adjust the volume on the speakers themselves.

Depending on the sound card, a newer driver may be part of the fix.

This is a known issue with the free player.

It is an I-D-10-T error.
