I have Dell Power Edge 1800 Windows 2003 Server, it contain 3 disks, 2/3 of these disks failed during bauckup process, now the server go throgh PERC/CERC Bios configuration utility.
When I tray to rebuild these two disks it give me ERROR and it cannot contenue
I tray also Reconstruct but it say that only optimal logical drive can be reconstructed.
Any info regarding this status?

When you put the drive(s) in, you have to make them "logical".

Go into "computer management" and mark the drives as "logical". Then try the rebuild.
Hope all goes well.

Please post back if you have any more problems or questions.

If you have lost 2 disks from your RAID 5 array you're in a bit of a spot!

The only real way to recover them is to rebuild the array and recover the data from a previous backup. This is where you pray that the backups have been running correctly every single night.

Now 1 thing you COULD try is to reseat both of the drives, then go into the controller at teh BIOS level. In there there is a command (I foget the name. It's been a while since I've looked at the DELL PERC controller) that will allow you to rebuild the array. At this point you have nothing to lose. Give it a try and see if the array comes back. If it doesn't have the data you will need to get those tapes anyway.

Best of luck.
