Receiving non-system disk error

By dijon_k ·
I have a HP CN6120 laptop and I'm receiving a non-system disk error. There are no disks in any drive however the laptop does not recognized the hard drive. Transfered the drive to a different laptop and it worked. What could be creating this problem?

The HDD is not being correctly recognized that is the reason for the error message.

You need to check in the BIOS that it is correctly seeing the HDD and if it is not make sure that the HDD is correctly installed. Some HP's have a Connector that goes between the M'Board and the HDD and if this is not fitted the HDD is not connected tot he M'Board.

If the HDD is correctly connected tot he M'Board and it works in another computer the M'Board in that HP is dead.
