Recomendation of SCSI controller

I am going to upgrade from a 40 pin IDE hard drive to a Western Digital 9.1 SCSI. I will need a controller.
My pc profile is custom, Athlon 1.0 cpu,512mb ram,Win.98SE OS

adaptec makes the best SCSI controllers:

Look at the Western Digital drive and determine which version of SCSI it works under and purchase a controller accordingly.

There's Ultra SCSI, Ultra-2, Ultra-Wide, etc. There's a bunch of white papers on the adaptec site.

You can also go into a computer store, broswe the shelves for a SCSI controller.
